Freedom Trail: Small Group Tour of Revolutionary Boston (2.5 Hours)

Overview
Boston's principal role in launching the American Revolution is linked by the brick-lined Freedom Trail. This world-famous pedestrian path is best experienced on foot, in a small group, with a knowledgeable local guide! This 2.5-hour tour travels the trail from Boston Common to Copp's Hill Terrace, providing guests a chance to see ALL SIXTEEN official landmarks on the Freedom Trail.

Our small-group walking tour delves deeply into the years 1760 to 1776, the tumultuous years leading into the American Revolution. We walk in the footsteps of Colonial Bostonians, all of whom grappled with the difficult—yet essential—question of loyalty or rebellion to crown and country.

With a captivating storytelling approach, Hub Town Tours provides the perfect introduction to Boston's status as America's "Cradle of Liberty." As we travel past historic landmarks from Revolutionary Boston, your guide shares the gripping story of a small colonial town careening toward war with a global empire.

Sarah was great and extremely knowledgeable about the period. Very patient with small children in the group while still engaging the adults. She presented the information in a clear and engaging way. Provided ample opportunity to ask questions and was very knowledgeable with answers. While it was extremely hot, she kept a good pace and found shade for us to stand when discussing information. Small group is the way to go! The larger groups we encountered were very impersonal and had to use a microphone for the guide to be heard. So glad I found your company! Will engage again when I bring my family back. Thanks Sarah!!!

And thank you for sharing such a complimentary review of Sarah's tour—we'll make sure she hears this wonderful feedback! Our goal with every small-group tour is to engage visitors of all ages and familiarity with U.S. history, so it's quite rewarding to hear how effectively Sarah worked with everyone in your group. Our approach to the Freedom Trail is straightforward: no crowds, no costumes!

What a wonderful tour. The thing I likes the most was that we were a small group. Other groups we seen probably easily had 30 + people, we had maybe 15. Ted was a fabulous historian. He really knew his stuff and you can tell he’s very passionate about what he’s teaching you. So informative and I even learned a few things. Great tour, would recommend to everyone.

Thank you for sharing this excellent testimonial! The Freedom Trail grows more popular every summer, and group sizes have unfortunately ballooned in recent years. That's why we make sure EVERY group stays small—we never book more than 16 guests on a single tour! It's hard to enjoy the history if you can't see or hear the guide.
