Freedom Trail: Small Group Tour of Revolutionary Boston (2.5 Hours)

Overview
Boston's principal role in launching the American Revolution is linked by the brick-lined Freedom Trail. This world-famous pedestrian path is best experienced on foot, in a small group, with a knowledgeable local guide! This 2.5-hour tour travels the trail from Boston Common to Copp's Hill Terrace, providing guests a chance to see ALL SIXTEEN official landmarks on the Freedom Trail.

Our small-group walking tour delves deeply into the years 1760 to 1776, the tumultuous years leading into the American Revolution. We walk in the footsteps of Colonial Bostonians, all of whom grappled with the difficult—yet essential—question of loyalty or rebellion to crown and country.

With a captivating storytelling approach, Hub Town Tours provides the perfect introduction to Boston's status as America's "Cradle of Liberty." As we travel past historic landmarks from Revolutionary Boston, your guide shares the gripping story of a small colonial town careening toward war with a global empire.

Ted told a story rather than simply regurgitate dates and events. Kept us engaged and interested the whole time. #HUB

"Flashcard history" is definitely NOT what we do here at Hub Town Tours! Our primary goal is to bring the amazing stories of the Freedom Trail to life—thanks for supporting our local business, Chad.

Take this fast-paced walking tour of history, storytelling, & education with Hub Town Tours. If you are in the Boston area (even for just one day, like we were) please do yourself a favor and take this walking tour! Our whole family—including 11yr & 14yr old girls—loved this fast-paced tour of the Freedom Trail by Hub Town Tours and we all agreed it was literally the BEST guided tour that we have ever taken. It was informative, engaging, historically accurate (as confirmed by my husband, who has a Masters degree on American Revolution history), and absolutely packed with relatable and humanizing stories of the past. This package was all delivered effortlessly with humor, wit, and energy by our guide, Mathew. Mathew had more knowledge than even he had time to share in our 2.5hr tour and my family found ourselves “pushing forward” just to walk next to him between stops & hear more stories. He engaged the girls by telling about some of the unsung teenage characters of the time period and swapped interesting historical book titles with my husband. But, importantly to me during our very hot, sunny, afternoon tour, Mathew also made sure that our group stayed in the shade when we were walking, we never faced into the sun when he was talking, and he gave us lots of opportunities to sit down/rest while listening. All told, my whole family agreed that this was the best guided tour that we have ever taken…and we have taken MANY over the years. It was the perfect blend of history, storytelling, education, and theater. And the smaller group size was well worth the small extra cost. Do yourself a favor and just book this tour; Hub Town Tours was exceptional!

Please come visit us in Boston again soon—Matthew always has more history up his sleeves!
