Freedom Trail: Small Group Tour of Revolutionary Boston (2.5 Hours)

Overview
Boston's principal role in launching the American Revolution is linked by the brick-lined Freedom Trail. This world-famous pedestrian path is best experienced on foot, in a small group, with a knowledgeable local guide! This 2.5-hour tour travels the trail from Boston Common to Copp's Hill Terrace, providing guests a chance to see ALL SIXTEEN official landmarks on the Freedom Trail.

Our small-group walking tour delves deeply into the years 1760 to 1776, the tumultuous years leading into the American Revolution. We walk in the footsteps of Colonial Bostonians, all of whom grappled with the difficult—yet essential—question of loyalty or rebellion to crown and country.

With a captivating storytelling approach, Hub Town Tours provides the perfect introduction to Boston's status as America's "Cradle of Liberty." As we travel past historic landmarks from Revolutionary Boston, your guide shares the gripping story of a small colonial town careening toward war with a global empire.

This tour was perfect for us, small intimate group and great history. We loved all of the stories and information that our tour guide, Ted provided, and we got to ask lots of questions. It was a well laid out and nice mix of walking and rest. Ted’s laminated pictures and maps really helped get a vision for what Boston was like in the 1770s. My husband and I and even our 10 and 11-year-old daughters learned a lot and were entertained and had a pleasurable experience throughout. I would highly recommend this tour.

Thank you very much for writing this 5-star review for our small business! The Freedom Trail boasts pretty impressive history, and we always aim to make it fun and educational, no matter our guests' age or expertise. And we think stories are always better with pictures, of course!

Ted was amazing! He has so much knowledge about Boston and it’s history and you can clearly tell he is passionate about what he does. I would recommend his freedom trail tour to anyone and will likely book another one of Ted’s tours when we come back to visit again!

Thank you, Hayley! I'm so glad you and your husband had such an awesome time on the Freedom Trail with me. Please reach out when you're back in town—I'd love to share even more history with you. (Boston has quite a lot!)

The story comes to life! Learn about the personalities and motivation of some of our founding fathers, and the path they took from simply wanting representation to fighting for complete independence for a group of colonies. If you’re thinking of a Freedom Trail tour & love history, walk past the others offered and just purchase a ticket for this one. Better yet, book a private tour for even more time and details of a little city with an amazing story. Also, reserve a dinner for afterwards at one of the incredible restaurants in the North End, otherwise you’ll be disappointed walking through, smelling all of the fabulous Italian cooking without sitting down to enjoy. Mangia! {There, I’ve just set up a perfect Boston evening for you.}

An evening history stroll followed by an Italian feast sounds perfect to me! There's so much history along the Freedom Trail, but we're able to visit all the major landmarks in two hours. As you note, however, we're always available by request for private tours, which can be customized for any duration, up to full-day outings. Thanks for supporting Hub Town Tours, Kimberly—mangia, indeed!
