It rained hard on Sunday morning just before our tour was scheduled to start. Lucky us as we were the only two people on the tour with guide Mike. Despite battling a weak voice he was fantastic. We started with the history of New Orleans, French Quarter, and a walk though Jackson Square. Mike is a wealth of knowledge, has access to local properties, has a great sense of humor and a deep love for the city of New Orleans. Great history lessons, sights to see, jazz locations, cemetery operations and how Katrina impacted the area. Mike is a terrific person to walk the streets with and his love for the city shines. It was our please to walk with him for almost 2 and 1/2 hours. Well worth it,

Our tour was the morning following Fat Tuesday, and our guide was delighted that so many of our group showed up. (I can see why this would be a problem following Fat Tuesday.) Our tour guide was very friendly with a terrific sense of humor. He knew so much about the history of the French Quarter and the St. Louis Cemetery. He also coped with an interesting young lady whose behavior could have been a significant problem. Well Done, Sir.

My friend and I were super lucky to be the only ones to sign up for a walking tour on a Monday morning during Carnival. ;-) We ended up having our own private tour! Mike was an awesome guide-- extremely knowledgeable, friendly and fun. We started in the French Quarter learning all about its colorful history before checking out the famous St. Louis #1 cemetery. The tour was really interesting and informative. Merci beaucoup, Mike!!
