I’m going to start with my only real negative, then end with the positives. Not all gear is included in the price. Fins and snorkel mask are included. However, the water is approximately 20 degrees colder than body temperature, and all the guides suggested using one of their wetsuits to help keep you warm to enjoy the snorkel. What they didn’t tell you, until they gave you the wetsuit, is that to use them it is an additional $10/suit. Not expensive, but I feel like all equipment should be included in the price, and they didn’t tell you it was extra until you had the gear. I didn’t try and decline after I was informed of the price, because I still wanted it to enjoy the snorkel (I feel like they would have understood the change of mind, if you declined after hearing the price). However, that should either be included, or they should mention the extra cost up front (if they did mention price upfront, I missed it).
Overall, it was a good trip. The crew was nice and personable. I didn’t feel like anyone was a bother to them while on board, as I have seen with some snorkel outfits. The views were great. The aquatic wildlife at the crater was nice, there weren’t schools of tropical fish or anything, but it was still nice. You then go to the shore of Maui to an area where there were several sea turtles.
Lunch and breakfast included, due to COVID it was all box style. This was fine, I’m not picky when it comes to food, as long as it is edible. They did have juice and water (free/included) and adult beverages (very reasonable price).
