Browns Canyon on the Arkansas River is our most popular trip! This in an intermediate trip but also not too scary for first-timers. The unique combination of lots of exciting whitewater, spectacular canyon scenery, great mountain views of some of Colorado’s highest mountains and opportunities to spot wildlife make this the ideal raft trip.

Arkansas River

Browns Canyon National Monument on the Arkansas River is our most popular trip! The unique combination of lots of exciting whitewater, spectacular canyon scenery, great mountain views of some of Colorado’s highest mountains and opportunities to spot wildlife make this the ideal raft trip. Exciting enough for seasoned paddlers, but not too scary for first-timers. You will want to bring your friends and family for epic rapids such as Pinball, Zoom Flume, and Big Drop!

Colorado’s most popular raft trips are located on America’s most popular river for rafting – the Arkansas River. This river provides everything you could want in a river rafting trip. Beautiful scenery, a lot of whitewater on each trip, pristine water quality, a feeling of remoteness, a comfortable and dry climate, and a wide selection of options to help you enjoy your perfect trip.

Great information from Kotty about the sites and mountain ranges along the rafting route. My wife and daughter became part of of the Arkansas River Swim team. Haha. Lunch was made hot onsite on a beach along the river. It was great. Fajitas and chips and salsa and salad plus fruit and brownies too. The guides kept the history lesson going even on the short bus rides to and fro the river. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Kids had tons of fun and want to do class 4 rapids next time. This was a great start for first timers (except me) with class 3 rapids.

This is a great trip for first-timers with a little courage. My kids (ages 16, 13, and 10) and I all had more fun than we ever could have dreamed. Brody, Kotty, and Page were the guides for our pod. Brody was a riot! Kotty was full of energy and good information about the Arkansas River and the mountain ranges surrounding the valley. The lunch, cooked right there on the bank of the river, was REALLY delicious. As my ten-year-old said, "Their fajitas are better than Chipotle!" For non-rafters, the price might initially seem a little high, but for a full day of fun, it's a great value. Really. (And if you shop around, you'll see that The Adventure Company's prices are actually cheaper than most competitors.) We are already planning our next trip.

This was a great day from start to finish - Squirrel our rad guide was funny, informative, very experienced and put up with our 2 crazy families from America and beyond ! Lots of laughter, awesome mix of calm water and safely navigated rapids, amazing canyon scenery topped off with delish fajita lunch .... really worth seeing the best stretch of whitewater in Col/world !!!!!
