I reviewed all types of excursions for our vacation to Hawaii and decided we would like to see this beautiful island and opted to do the full day island tour. It was the Mr.’s birthday and we wanted it to be fun. The driver called and let us know he was there to pick us up. When we got on the van there were 3 couples and none of them spoke and we were like ā€œoh sh!t it’s going to be a long dayā€. We thought we were on the way to get the tour started and the driver told us that we would be changing buses and let me just say I AM SO DAMN HAPPY WE DID. We arrived to the new tour bus and the driver greeted us with a Good Morning my family what’s your names and where are you from? We gave him our names and where we traveled from and he said ā€œvery nice to meet you, I’m Captain Vince please get on the bus and let’s get this day started. He presented me with a lei, shook the Mr.’s hand and began to tell the group about himself. He proceeded by telling the group about the company and that they are CHRISTIAN based and that he always says a prayer before his tours and then PRAYED with and for our group. That alone let me know we were on the right bus with the right people to spend our day with. Captain Vince interacted with EVERY passenger on the bus. He didn’t miss not one single person. He made sure we were all good. It was as if he has known us for more than a few hours; we were like family to him. I let him know that it was the Mr.’s birthday and the whole bus sung happy birthday. He was not the tour guide that when we stopped he stayed on the tour bus, he got off the bus and participated with us. Whatever we did, he did also. We took individual and group pictures and he was in them with us like one big family LOL! Captain Vince provided great information on all tour sites. The Hawaiian history/culture/language. He answered all of our questions and challenged us to a little Hawaiian trivia. Some of us failed miserably but it was all FUN!!! It was at one point we stopped at a fruit stand and he asked if we would like to try a treat. He purchased some type of fruit similar looking to plantains (he said the name but I forgot what it was) anyway, I tried it and I broke out in hives. I asked him what was in the treat and he said it but I didn’t hear anything other than COCONUTS. IM ALLERGIC TO COCONUTS. (I thought I had a Benadryl pill in my purse; only to later find it on the night stand in the hotel) I’m freaking out and he remained calm and said ā€œno worries, we are going to stop and get you something; Benadryl or cortisone cream. And he did exactly as he said. I so appreciated that. Make sure if you are looking for an all-day island tour ask the company if they have ā€œCAPTAIN VINCEā€ if not, LOOK FOR THE COMPANY THAT DOES. You will definitely have a great time and very well worth your money. CAPTAIN VINCE….MAHALO NUI LOA, A HUI HOU KāKOU!! SHAUNDA & DARRIN
