Overview

The Royal Gorge is one of the most thrilling and exciting whitewater rafting trips on the Arkansas River. Enjoy the beauty and thrill of God’s creation as you experience 1,000 foot high canyon walls, confront exciting Class III-V rapids, and see the famous Royal Gorge Bridge. Full-day trips start with Bighorn Canyon (class III-IV), break for a delicious riverside lunch, then drop into the Royal Gorge (class IV-V).

Journey Quest is a non-profit Christ-centered rafting ministry, and these trip are uplifting, family-friendly adventures. The Royal Gorge is a serious section of river. Previous class III or higher paddling experience and strong swimming ability are recommended for all guests. For the safety of our guests and guides, we cannot take guests who are over 250lbs or individuals with a history of heart or serious medical problems.

We did a full day trip with Journey Quest. We had an outstanding experience. Mark was our guide and he was fantastic. He did not rush us through the day at all. He stopped several times along the way to let us swim, explore and jump off the canyon walls into the water. Safety was always top of mind with Mark. He did an excellent job of telling us what to expect before we left and he provided excellent direction in the water. The Royal Gorge does not disappoint! The rapids are big, fast and a lot of fun. I’d highly recommend Journey Quest for your family. I’d also recommend the full day trip. Beautiful scenery, and a lot of exhilarating experiences for your entire family. A great lunch is also provided.

It was a blast in the gorge with these guys! The group I was with was nervous all the way until we were through a couple small rapids. From there our guide led us through some fun 4s and kept everybody energized the whole way through.
