My husband and I booked this tour for the end of July months in advance. Unfortunately by the time we reached the Yosemite area, the day before our tour, the nearby Ferguson wildfire had already created adverse health and visibility conditions in the park. Specifically, the air quality was 7 times the maximum level the EPA considers hazardous for humans. The visibility was 5 times worse than in Beijing. Our hotel advised us that we should get face masks before we go. For all these reasons we contacted Crossroads Tours to inform them that we are cancelling the trip. Nevertheless they refused to refund any of the money we paid. The tour operator was well aware of these conditions, but still encouraged us to go on the tour. We opted not to go due to concerns for our health and the poor visibility we knew we would encounter in the park — not the kind of experience we had in mind when we purchased this tour. Subsequently the park was closed the day after our scheduled tour and lodges in the park were evacuated. Crossroads Tours justification for not refunding our money is that the park was still open on the day of our scheduled tour. Given the prevalence of wildfires in Northern California these days, you should think twice about using this tour operator.

HI Inga, Exactly as I explained to you on the phone that we cannot cancel the tours if Parks remain open. If our guests came from far away and we told them tour is cancelled even though the park is open people would get upset with us. So we have drawn a line where if the park remains open we will go and on that day others still went in the park. There are other situations during the year when there is snow or rain and we still have to conduct our tours to take care of our guests who have planned to visit for a long time. Please contact us and if you didn't go on the tour we will provide you a free tour if you happen to come here again in 2019. Thank you

An excellent full day tour with pick up and drop off in Fresno. An early start but well worth the effort to avoid the crowds early in the day. Over 7 hours in total within Yosemite allowed sufficient time to see all the major sights you read about in the guide books. A comfortable vehicle and a knowledgeable and engaged host driver. Highly recommended tour.
