Mike Adams is the man!! Super personable, great teacher. I've seen him work with beginners as well as experienced anglers like myself. In my experience, I have yet to work with a better guide. Not only is he full of knowledge about both fishing and Alaska in general, but he just an awesome dude to hang out with for the day. As far as results ... I've caught my limit with him every single time. King's, reds, silvers. And even a few trout. I book him year after year. If you're fishing Kenai, you'd be doing yourself a disservice not to book a trip with Mike Adams.

Thanks for choosing to come back and fish with me when you come to the Kenai. The friendships formed from years of fishing together make guiding such an awesome job!

We visited the Kenai River area on the family trip just before the boys were to get back to school. From talking to Mike a couple of months before the trip, I could tell that he was one who really knew the Kenai inside out and could tailor the trip to what I wanted - which was for my teenage boys to enjoy the experience of a guided float on the Upper Kenai. As we approached the day of the trip, I told Mike that my boys were late starters and he was quick to accommodate and had us begin mid-morning. As my wife (who wasn't fishing that day) was shuttling Mike back to the launch, he gave her great tips on things to do while we were out on our trip. I really appreciated that as she had a good day hiking and sightseeing around Cooper's Landing (something that I didn't expect but was pleasantly surprised). Although my sons have fly fished before, the flow and depth of the Kenai required a nymphing setup that required a bit of finesse and technique for a good presentation. Mike's patience and persistence in teaching and correcting them was the key to them having a good time as both of my boys were able to get into quite a few fish, despite the fact that we started behind most of the boats that day. That's the mark of a great guide.

Sharing the Kenai with the next generation of fishermen is one of the things that makes my job so great! Thanks for choosing me to be a part of your family trip.

Mike gave us a Fly Fishing Trip of a lifetime, it was about a 2 mile trek to the fishing spot he recommended, mostly easy, a little down hill, definitely wear hiking boots. The salmon were biting right and left, actually snag one on my 1st cast, but it got freed. We each caught our limit of 3 a piece, though I probably had about 8 releases, what an amazing day. Dress warm, even with waders, the water is cold. Even saw 3 Eagles flying above us and landing in a tree right above us. Spectacular views.
