Full-Day Upper Klamath Rafting Trip

Overview
After over 100 years, a stunning and remarkable canyon has come back to life with the removal of the Klamath dams. The Kikacéki Reach of the Klamath River was bypassed for hydroelectric production, but today flows have been restored and the reveal has been nothing short of spectacular.

My wife and I were nervous about potential risks associated with class 4 rafting on a river we'd never been on. The guides were top notch and made sure that we had a great experience. Instructions were clear and sensible and the equipment was high quality and they went over the top making sure that everyone was taken care of and that we had an awesome trip.

From our arrival at 8 a.m. everything went so smoothly. Continental breakfast to begin, followed by safety talk and how-to's and what to expect for our day. Guides were very knowledgeable and it was evident they loved their jobs. Glen, our guide, was attentive to every detail and all three guides served us a wonderful lunch--gourmet sandwiches--after we'd gotten completely soaked by the rapids. We all pitched in with our oars and had a wonderful day. Thrilling. This stretch of river has everything to offer--beautiful landscape complete with ospreys, bald eagle, occasional fly fisherfolks, but surprising little traffic on the river--something to be praised.

This was my fourth time going down the upper Klamath River, but the first time with this company. They were thoroughly professional and went above and beyond anything that I was expecting. From the breakfast before we left the company site, to the extensive luncheon laid out as a picnic in the middle of the river trip, to the root beer floats at the end of the day, we felt very well taken care of! The final touch was receiving an email with photographs from our trip. Brandon and Darby were delightful and knowledgeable guides and drivers. If you really want to make the most of the 4+ White water experience, be sure to sit in the front of the boat!
