What To Expect
1
The Loop
The area most associated with gangster era crime and haunting is know as “The Loop”. This was the cities vice district during the roaring 20’s and 1930’s riddled with speakeasy saloons, secret underground tunnels used by bootleggers and the headquarters of famous gangsters such as Al Capone. The tour is about 1.5 miles long with frequents stops and a refreshment/restroom break.
2
Millennium Park
Home to Cloud Gate and a famous Chicago landmark.
3
Palmer House Hilton Historic Lobby
Stop for a break at the Palmer House Hotel, rumored to be haunted. The Palmer House Hotel is the oldest hotel in Chicago and considered the oldest continuously operating hotel in the USA.
4
Chicago Riverwalk
You'll walk along the Riverwalk during the tour, which is guided by a Historian. It is not theatrical, but rather the tales are told in a more “around the campfire” fashion. Spooky and verified ghost stories will be shared throughout the tour along with visiting the famous gangster hang outs.
5
Cloud Gate
Will be seen on the tour - also known as "the bean!"
6
The Chicago Theatre
Stop for photos at this famous Chicago landmark!

What a fun journey! Lizzy, our tour guide, was an energetic story teller that blended history and ghost lore together delightfully. For gangster history and ghost/spirit enthuisiasts this tour is for you. It is a walking tour with one rest stop towards the end; so empty your bladder before your journey! Get to the gathering EARLY. There wasn't a tour sign at the gathering site so you might have to ask "are you with Gangsters and Ghosts tour." Depending on the season... We went on the 8 o'clock tour in early September and it was perfect. The night lights were awesome and so was the weather. I can only imagine that as the season changes one may prefer the "warmer" day tour.

Truly enjoyed the delivery of our tour guide and the information shared was really interesting, but there seemed to be a lot more walking than info shared. I had hoped for it to be the reverse. At one point the guide said that there had been over 10,000 gangsters killed in the beer wars, so it seems to me that he could have pointed at just about anywhere along the way where someone had to have been smoked, and it would have helped to fill in some of the longer walks.
