What To Expect
1
The Loop
The area most associated with gangster era crime and haunting is know as “The Loop”. This was the cities vice district during the roaring 20’s and 1930’s riddled with speakeasy saloons, secret underground tunnels used by bootleggers and the headquarters of famous gangsters such as Al Capone. The tour is about 1.5 miles long with frequents stops and a refreshment/restroom break.
2
Millennium Park
Home to Cloud Gate and a famous Chicago landmark.
3
Palmer House Hilton Historic Lobby
Stop for a break at the Palmer House Hotel, rumored to be haunted. The Palmer House Hotel is the oldest hotel in Chicago and considered the oldest continuously operating hotel in the USA.
4
Chicago Riverwalk
You'll walk along the Riverwalk during the tour, which is guided by a Historian. It is not theatrical, but rather the tales are told in a more “around the campfire” fashion. Spooky and verified ghost stories will be shared throughout the tour along with visiting the famous gangster hang outs.
5
Cloud Gate
Will be seen on the tour - also known as "the bean!"
6
The Chicago Theatre
Stop for photos at this famous Chicago landmark!

I forgot about my tour guide's name, but he was entertaining and captivating in terms of telling all the stories behind all our stops. He was also funny and friendly. I really felt like I time-traveled to the past when listening to the stories. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience.

The story in the Chicago Fire and Al Capone’s Life. It was a bit cold but overall everything was pretty good!!

My hubby and I have done alot of walking tours in other city's and this one we found a bit underwhelming. We normally join the free tours where you pay at the end to how much you think the tour is worth. But there weren't any available so we booked on this one. At $30 per person this really wasn't worth that amount and then the tour guide wants a tip! It's only 1 hour 45mins tour and 15 minutes of that is a break in the historic palmer House Hotel. It was great to go in there but there wasn't any need to have a 15min break on over an hour tour! The guide was mediocre, he never really finished the stories fully and when questioned he didn't know the answers. I wouldn't recommend this especially on just the price alone. Find a free tour and tip them - they are normally great.
