What To Expect

The Loop

The area most associated with gangster era crime and haunting is know as “The Loop”. This was the cities vice district during the roaring 20’s and 1930’s riddled with speakeasy saloons, secret underground tunnels used by bootleggers and the headquarters of famous gangsters such as Al Capone. The tour is about 1.5 miles long with frequents stops and a refreshment/restroom break.

Palmer House Hilton Historic Lobby

Stop for a break at the Palmer House Hotel, rumored to be haunted. The Palmer House Hotel is the oldest hotel in Chicago and considered the oldest continuously operating hotel in the USA.

Chicago Riverwalk

You'll walk along the Riverwalk during the tour, which is guided by a Historian. It is not theatrical, but rather the tales are told in a more “around the campfire” fashion. Spooky and verified ghost stories will be shared throughout the tour along with visiting the famous gangster hang outs.

I enjoyed the information I learned about the gangsters and ghosts of Chicago, but I wish we could’ve gone inside more buildings of these hauntings or where gangster activities occurred. For the $40 price per person, I expected to tour inside these buildings instead of just talking about them from the outside.

Kai was an amazing tour guide! Very knowledgeable and friendly. This is a nice background on some of the gangster history in the city, as well as some ghostly stories as well.

Fantastic tour! Our tour guide Brandon was phenomenal. Great storyteller, who brought history to life with a splash of humor. He always had our safety in mind and clearly communicated the plan, prior to the trip and then a reminder after every stop. Great variety of gangster and Chicago historical sites. Even included some TV and film key locations during the tour. Would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Chicago! Thanks again Brandon!!!
