What To Expect

The Loop

The area most associated with gangster era crime and haunting is know as “The Loop”. This was the cities vice district during the roaring 20’s and 1930’s riddled with speakeasy saloons, secret underground tunnels used by bootleggers and the headquarters of famous gangsters such as Al Capone. The tour is about 1.5 miles long with frequents stops and a refreshment/restroom break.

Palmer House Hilton Historic Lobby

Stop for a break at the Palmer House Hotel, rumored to be haunted. The Palmer House Hotel is the oldest hotel in Chicago and considered the oldest continuously operating hotel in the USA.

Chicago Riverwalk

You'll walk along the Riverwalk during the tour, which is guided by a Historian. It is not theatrical, but rather the tales are told in a more “around the campfire” fashion. Spooky and verified ghost stories will be shared throughout the tour along with visiting the famous gangster hang outs.

Awesome tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the gangsters, Chicago fire and the “ghosts”! I am 75 and had no problem keeping up with the tour. Leisure walk. There are some stairs. Almost 2 hours long. I wore sunscreen and a large hat to protect me from the sun. She does walk in the shade a lot though. Thumbs up for this tour if you like history!

This was a great tour. Our guide, Andre, was enthusiastic, entertaining and informative. My son (12) and I had a terrific time walking the downtown streets of Chicago learning some of the darker sides of the city's history.

At first I thought 2 hours was going to be a bit long but it went fast. We did the 8p. The sights were memorable, tragic, and spooky yet it still managed to be a light-hearted, fun walk through the city... Lizzy was very punny and engaging!
