It's so strange to walk the streets of Salida now that I've been on the Dark Side tour... I LOVED IT! I have learned a bit of railroad history since moving to town, even checked out books from the library to look through the fascinating old photos. I knew some names Steve mentioned, but the books sure didn't tell the stories Steve did during the tour!! It was an absolute blast. Learning about gun fights, jail escapes, brothels, railroad hangings, a serial killer, and lots of spirits still enjoying town.

Steve’s tours offer something that’s a rare find these days; the ability to transport you back in time with superlative storytelling skills. My husband and I took the Darkside of Salida Tour and just loved it! The more I learned about the goings on in Salida’s wild west days, the more I marveled at the contrast with our present time. So many colorful characters and surprising events. As we walked the downtown streets, and Steve described in wonderful detail the ambience that made up this rowdy railroad town, I could actually imagine it all. Since we are locals, we were surprised at just how much we didn’t know about our town. Lots of goosebumps at the spooky ghost stories and haunting tales of those days. Wonderful. Looking forward to more of these tours. We would recommend them to anyone and everyone who loves to be entertained with great historic storytelling.
