Ghost On the Strand Ghost Tour

Overview
Galveston has seen a horrifying number of sudden deaths. An ungodly number of the islands dearly departed, well never departed. Their spirits are lurking in the shadows, alleys, staircases and stalk THE STRAND every day! The historic 19th century buildings on THE STRAND have become ghost sanctuaries. And the ghosts inside are just dying to meet you.

Join us on our 90 minute walking tour as we explore the fascinating paranormal happenings on the strand, the original street of horror. Hurricanes, war, fire, and epidemics! The pirate Jean Lafitte even turned the island into a den of thieves. Galveston has more ghosts than any other city in U.S.

Walking in the night, translucent figures will float by the windows. Shadows will suddenly appear and objects move of their own accord as we huddle closer to one another for are mutual protection. We never know what’s waiting for us around the corners. Beware and be scared! After all Galveston is nothing but “a cemetery with a beach attached.”

What To Expect
1
Galveston Railroad Museum
At its height this railroad station saw over 40,000 people a day on their way to Galveston's bars, casinos and brothels. An engineer by the name of William Watson would entertain the passing crowds by doing handstands on the cattle guard of the engines. One unfortunate day he SLIPPED and was immediately decapitated. A derby hat was still securely sitting on the head they found A MILE AWAY!
2
Grand 1894 Opera House
Charles F. Coghlan a famous British actor sailed to Galveston to grace the stage of The Grand Opera House. But poor Charles died before the curtain was ever raised. What to do with this distinguished visitor’s body? While waiting for the answer THE GREAT STORM demolished the island and carried Charles coffin out to sea. It floated from Galveston to Prince Albert Sound before it finally made land…ABOUT A MILE FROM WHERE CHARLES WAS GOING TO RETIRE!

History of Galveston was worth the tour. Guide suggestion, best not mention "right " into her story line so much. She did know her history.

Fascinating history with a very believable haunted side. Shannon was my tour guide. She was outstanding with her historical knowledge and sharing her own personal experiences. Many very detailed stories -- while experiencing the haunted buildings. She also did a great job navigating through a noisy holiday parade. ;) -Chris C

I'm glad you all had a awesome adventure! And you got to see one of Galveston's parades. I haven't gotten any research on this but I think Allison has more parades than any other city in the country. Lol. Thank you for writing such a wonderful review. We really appreciate it. We hope to see you on one of our other tours soon. Happy holidays

We had a female guide who was very sweet. It wasn’t so much a spooky ghost tour but more of a field trip with a history lesson.
