What a fun tour! I am a history fanatic and lover of macabre. My favorite author is Edgar Allen Poe, and I am true crime and horror film obsessed. Unfortunately, my family does not share the same love for spookiness. Yet, I was able to convince my mother and daughter to join me on the tour. Evan was fantastic! Her historical knowledge and experience were awe-inspiring. Her activity planning kept all of us engaged and excited. She was sure to point out little-known facts about the museum and artifacts that are likely unknown and recommended books along the way. As an avid reader, I appreciated this. At the end of the tour Evan presented us with some surprises that made us all smile. I can't wait to book the next tour with Fable and Lark!

Ghost Stories: A Mysterious, Macabre Tour in the Metropolitan Museum was another great tour offered by Fable and Lark! It taught me so many things that I didn't know--including the origins of trick or treating, myths, and beliefs surrounding the afterlife, monsters, and more, from different cultures and across the ages. Evan is a fantastic guide who brings history, art, culture (and more!) to life! This is the second tour of hers that I have attended, and look forward to attending many more! As a native New Yorker, I have been lucky enough to regularly explore the Met Museum of Art; however, what is so special about attending Evan's tours are that she highlights objects that I have observed in passing or walked past many times, but never gave much thought to. I think what is so special about her and her tours is that she adds a richness to your experience. You can have a wonderful time seeing the Met on your own, but Evan makes it even better! She tells you about all of the people and their backstories, she contextualizes and connects these stories to what what going on at the time, and she focuses on diverse subjects (stories, objects, and people from around the globe and from different time periods). Finally, she does all of this in an engaging and interactive way, asking tour goers to be active participants. I always walk away wanting to revisit objects and knowing far more than I did before the tour. The time flies and I always want to hear more stories from Evan! Note: I attend these tours with my mother who has some mobility issues (she often uses a wheelchair). Evan is super accommodating and inclusive, making sure that we take routes that have elevators/don't have stairs. We feel lucky and grateful not to miss out on any of the tour. I cannot recommend Evan and her tours more strongly! Don't miss out!
