Ghost Stories and True Crime Walking Tour of the French Quarter

Overview
We couldn't decide if we loved ghost stories or true crime stories more, so we decided to do them both!

You can almost feel the history (and the spirits) as you walk through this 300 year old neighborhood and former Native American gathering place on the Mississippi River.

THIS is the sacred ground where centuries of unforgettable, intense characters have lived, loved, fought, celebrated, made music, and taken their last breaths. Energy like that does not fade away; in fact, it intensifies when we tell their stories as we walk through their streets.
We will share with you the stories of hauntings, murders, rituals, restless spirits, mischievous ghosts, and some things we just can't explain. Even skeptics love this tour, because everyone loves a good story!

The tour is 1.5 - 2 hours and covers about a mile in the world-famous French Quarter. Come after dinner and end in time for a night out on the town!

Royal Street, with its quaint architecture, art galleries, and mysterious antique-filled shops, is the perfect place to travel back in time to the days when pirates, wanderers, scandalous ladies, and dark hearts wandered the streets of this old neighborhood. Your guide will tell you the stories whose unforgettable characters may still linger behind the shutters and in the alleys and courtyards.

We visited New Orleans in 2022 and had such a great experience with Lucky Bean's walking tours, we looked them up again when we returned to NOLA in January 2024. Libby was our tour guide on the ghost and true crime tour. We met under a solitary streetlight in the middle of a dark French Quarter block and instantly delighted in her company. Energetic and wired to history all around us, she led us on a fascinating tour of buildings throughout the French Quarter that had been home to gruesome, grisly murders, torture and unseemly acts. Perfect way to spend a Friday night. Her stories were brisk yet complete, engaging and entertaining. The tour far exceeded the limitations of ghost stories - the stories were fleshed out with the rich history of New Orleans, making it an invaluable historical lesson as well. We were so lucky to have a small group that night. It was our own private tour, but even if she had 20 people on the tour she would have performed it with ease, as she's obviously been doing this for a long time. And yet, she had the investment and enthusiasm of someone just starting out - she was bursting with passion about her city. I can't recommend Lucky Bean's tours enough. Even if you don't normally take walking tours, try Lucky Bean because they are amazing guides. The experience will make your visit more meaningful. Thank you so much, Lucky Bean!

Voodoo as we never imagined it. Mia transported us with passion to the French Quarter of New Orleans with her scary stories as we walked through the maze of streets which each marked history through the experiences of certain inhabitants of the 18th century. Absolutely worth discovering.
