We really enjoyed this tour, and Joel really knew his stuff! We learned a good bit of local history and the details of a lot of ghostly goings-on.

It's hard to find things that are fun or interesting for a 13 year old who thinks everything is boring or stupid. A haunted tour of Greenwich Village was a bit of a gamble, but it turns out that it was great for her! We took a 2 hour walk to different sites around the Village with stops for history here and there, oh, and of course the ghost stories. He was charming and fun, and he really engaged with our kid, making her feel like it was OK to ask questions and learn more. We started at Waverly and 6th, and made several loops around Washington Square park. Sites included the Hangman's Tree, the site of the former Triangle Shirt Waist Factory, the most haunted house in NY, the former Pirate's Den, and Cherry Lane theater. You even get the bonus of passing by Stonewall. We got some great history, saw some gems we might not have otherwise seen, and entertained our kid, all in a 2 hour walk through town. Definitely a great time and well worth it! It was chilly when we were there, so wear layers, and it did start to rain lightly during our tour, and the tour doesn't stop, so be prepared for the weather. There are no bathroom stops, so make sure to go before you start. The tour starts at the Waverly Diner, which isn't a bad place to grab a bite before you're on your way (that's what we did).

Great experience. Nicole was an outstanding guide. Very knowledgeable about the area and local history. She made it so interesting that we're eager to learn more about the Greenwich Village neighborhood. And she made us forget that our feet hurt from walking around NYC all day!! We would definitely sign up for this same tour again. Highly recommended!
