GLOW Stand Up Paddle at Twilight

Overview

Just before sunset your adventure begins. After a brief lesson on land, we head into the bay to learn tips and techniques of stand up paddling. Your experience will mostly take place in a calm bay, and one of the best places on the North Shore to experience a Hawaiian sunset - and you get to do see it while you're walking on water!

This is a great chance to sight Green Hawaiian Sea Turtles as they travel back to the river. As the sun fades into the horizon, your board creates a halo of light that illuminates the ocean floor. Enjoy the peacefulness of the water during twilight and as stars begin to shine overhead. It's a perfect mix of fun and zen!

All our instructors are certified lifeguards, super friendly, and highly trained to give you an awesome experience on the water.We are Oahu's oldest running stand up paddle school - 11 years and loving it! Definitely worth it. No one of 5 of us had Sup Before but everyone did great and no one fell off. We all did a bit of yoga on our boards (thanks awesome guide Megan) and I even jumped off of the road swing from a tree. We had sea turtles swim right under our boards and saw an awesome sunset. My hubs wasn't too excited about it but now wants to get SUPs! 10/10 for sure!

Such a fun experience and I fully recommend it to everyone. It is much better than a sunset cruise or failing at learning how to surf. Meghan was excellent and a blast! It was only my husband, me and our guide Meghan doing it that evening. They start by reviewing the basics since we had never done it before and then they take us out on a calm turtle river that has no waves where you will be seeing some turtles pop up. Once it turns into dusk and the sun starts to set, they provide some glow sticks for your paddle and necklace, you then turn on your LED board nights and set it to the colour of your choice (or if you are like me, the alternating colour option), and then you turn around to head towards the ocean where there are minimal waves to enjoy the beautiful twilight! As a bonus, they take some pictures of your group and will give them to you for no additional cost! The only thing that would have made it even more fun would be to have some music, but otherwise such a peaceful activity.

No matter what swim level you are do not let that stop you. Megan and Andrew were very attentive to those who are not comfortable in the water. This is an experience that your grandchildren would want to hear about
