When my husband and I planned our Vegas trip, one of the main reasons was to do a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon. This was our 4th visit to Vegas and we had been wanting to book a helicopter. We were staying at the Bellagio, and if you are staying at an MGM property, you do get a discount. We saved about $100 and did the Wind Dancer tour which they said is the most popular.
While flying over the Grand Canyon was a beautiful sight and landing there was neat, the entire flight from the moment we left the airport til we returned was amazing. It was so interesting seeing the Vegas area - and flying over Hoover Dam and Lake Mead.
It's about a 40-minute flight to the Canyon, you land for about 30 minutes, then fly for a quick refueling (about 20-minute flight), then over the strip and to the airport (about another 30-40 minutes). And for each leg of the trip, you rotate seating so everyone can get a chance in the front. But really the views from the back are terrific as well. What's cool about sitting in the front is you feel you are flying the helicopter.
Brent was our pilot and he was great! And had an awesome classic rock playlist.
We are so glad we did it and highly recommend!!
