This definitely was one of the highlights of our trip. We took the Wind Dancer tour. We were fortunate to get to sit up front with the pilot. The view out is definitely the best. On our way out, we flew over the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and the Mojave Desert. The view is just stunning. We've toured the Hoover Dam up and close. It is just amazing to see it from the air. It was a quick flight over to the Grand Canyon (about 45 minutes). We landed below the rim on Hualapai Indian land to enjoy our champagne and light snacks. The stop was about 30 minutes. Our pilot (Adam) took pictures for everyone. He was quite gracious. Nice picnic table with umbrella for shade. Nice touch. The helicopter made a fuel stop then flew back over downtown Las Vegas and the Strip. The pilot did rotate seats so the other 3 passengers could sit up front. We each got a window seat in the rear. The left rear seat had the best view of the Strip. Took some amazing pictures on this trip. Now the "I wish they didn't do it this way" comments: Our morning pick up was at 6:40 am because we were staying at the Venetian. Furthest away. For the next hour we watched the driver trying to collect other people. Again, many people didn't bother to figure out where the exact pick up point was. Rewarding those people for not being responsible. Sure the pick up is "free". But we all know the cost is built in the cost of the tours. Wish they had an option to allow people to make their own way to Maverick and reduce the cost for not taking the shuttle. We would have taken an Uber/Lyft and leave at 7:15 am and still check in for our tour. It was frustrating to be up that early, only to watch other people waste our time.
