Ok we were picked up at 5:15 AM when we were told 5:30 so we were rushed a little. no time for coffee. When we arrived at the airport we were offered coffee and tea, however, the wasn't any hot water and no one to help the young lady behind the registration desk..so there were alot of empty cups with unused tea bags in them by the time we took off since no one ever did bring hot water. Next, I would have thought that the helicopter ride would have been an awesome experience, however it was a little lackluster in comparison to the river raft ride. The helicopter pilot was a little drab, yes he pointed out what he needed to point out, but let's just say he wouldn't be the life at any party. We were all a little mislead when we signed up for this combo trip. Another couple of ladies and my friend and I were under the impression we were landing in the canyon and getting on the raft from there, but that was not the case. We were flown back to the airport after a brief stop at a refuel spot on top of the canyon where there was a gift shop. Back at the airport where we waited for a bus to take us to the raft ride we were again offered coffee, no tea still no hot water, wine or beer or soda. But wait there was no cold wine, as no one put it in the fridge... that young girl needs help...the four of us were disappointed as we're the other groups coming in. So, off we all go to the raft ride down to the hoover dam. It was awesome totally made up for the morning fiasco. The lady driving the raft was funny, informative, and totally made the day memorable.one more thing, we were celebrating our birthdays which the people knew at the airport and we were suppose to be having a champaign toast, but guess what, it never happened, they probably didn't have that either....
Our pilot Alex was wonderful ! He was very professional and knowledgeable of the area. Flying with him was a true adventure ! Our guide for the river float was a real character. He was very knowledgeable of the Hoover Dam and its history, and he kept us all laughing the whole time. I definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Las Vegas or the Grand Canyon.
We were greeted quite hospitably by the ground crew at 5 Star. This was an experience not to be missed. I felt very confident in our Pilot Matt and his professional skills and congenial mannerisms our flight was fun, fascinating and awe inspiring. Our pilot's take off and landing skills seemed to a recognized and appreciated forte'. Onto the River Tour, what an absolute amazing adventure and tranquil yet informative glide down the waters of the Colorado. Our Capt Slade made sure we were well-infomred about safety before taking off and was quite knowledgeable and fun with his history and stories. I would definitely do this part of the tour a 2nd, 3rd and even fourth time I only wished I had a kayak.
