The rafting guide was amazing. She knew every detail of the canyon, from the history to the wildlife. Pleasant, polite, and incredibly knowledeable. The provide lunch was simple but wonderful, and their attention to detail (water on the boat, ponchos for the spray on a rare cold day) was excellent.
The helicopter place was a bit disorganized. Moved my pick up time by an hour, then changed the order of my trip (rafting first rather than second as planned), which resulted in a lot of sitting around in the morning. Then a dust storm blew in which almost resulted in me not being able to go at all. Since this was my only reason for visiting Vegas, that would have been a disaster, and I was greatly regretting not pushing for the earlier flight! Thankfully the storm quieted down, and an excellent pilot (an instructor!) took us about an hour later than planned. The view was wonderful, the pilot informative. No time at the canyon to bus out to get a close view, which was a deep disappointment. But the view from the chopper was amazing, so I'll get over it! All in all, an excellent trip.
Suggestions would be for better coordination - even without the dust storm delay of an hour+, there was a LOT of sitting around waiting as we were shuttled to drop off other guests to the flight location, waited there to get to our morning raft, waited there for the actual start of the rafting trip - all of this was another hour+ dead time. The 12+ hour day could have easily been shortened to 8+ hours with better organization, leaving me more time to do things other than sit around waiting.
Yes, I would still do it all again.
We loved this day, so friendly and well organised! Staff incredibly friendly. We had two teenagers that loved it. It's a very long day so rest up,
Great tour both rafting and helicopter. We just didn't like having to wait. Left at 7:30 but didn't get on the raft till 10. So a good 1 hour wait to start then 2 hours wait for the helicopter. Made for a long day.
