What To Expect
1
Grand Canyon South Rim
We've all heard of The Grand Canyon and probably seen it in movies and pictures. We're happy to report that The Grand Canyon not only lives up to the hype, it surpasses it as there really isnā€™t an adequate way to describe it without actually being there. The South Rim does a tremendous job of keeping the canyon hidden until youā€™re THERE. Weā€™ll leave early enough to arrive at the rim by sunrise and really take in the canyon. From there, weā€™ll explore the main area before taking a ride along miles of rim views during the middle of the day. We can absolutely hike into the canyon, even as far as the Colorado River at the bottom, but remember: down is optional, up is mandatory. After an afternoon of hiking, weā€™ll refuel with a late lunch and spend rest of the daylight enjoying the sunset and taking group photos. The group will then drive back to Las Vegas, stopping to view the Milky Way and capture group astrophotography shots as conditions permit.
2
Grandview Point
We will drive the rim from the Grand Canyon Visitor Center to the Desert View Visitor Center, making stops at scenic overlooks featuring numerous different perspectives of the canyon. Taking in the bend of the Colorado River, Grandview Point is special stop.
3
Hermit's Rest
For those who do not want to go deep into the canyon itself, Hermit's Rest and Hopi Point allow for unique views and tremendous sunset settings to the west of Grand Canyon Village.
4
Bright Angel Trail
We will actually have the option of going into the canyon via the Bright Angel (longer, steep) or the South Kaibab Trail (shorter, steeper). Both of these hikes involve stunning views such as Ohh Ahh Point and Plateau Point. Long hikes into the canyon should only be attempted by the most physically prepared. Getting to the bottom is 8 miles and 4,500ft, and that's the easy part. As they say, down is optional, up is mandatory. With enough lead time, this could be accomplished on mule/horseback, and South to North Rim hikes can be arranged.
5
Coconino National Forest
Depending on conditions (no/little moon, star alignment, no clouds, clear atmosphere), we will stop to stargaze at the Milky Way and take group astrophotography shots. The proper conditions simply cannot be guaranteed, and this should be considered a complimentary addition when conditions permit rather than a part of the trip itself.

Talk about an experience of a lifetime. My wife, our two friends, and I visited the Grand Canyon (South Rim) with Elite Custom Adventures, and weā€™re so glad that we did. While itā€™s a premium product, they really go above and beyond to deliver. Prior to the trip, we made a custom itinerary and did a pre-trip preparation session with Ryan over Zoom that left us feeling fully prepared for the adventure. When the day came, all we needed were the proper clothes and shoes, and Elite Custom Adventures took care of the rest. Ryan took us to an unmarked overlook for sunrise and we had the entire place to ourselves. Next we hiked into the canyon to the famous ā€œOoh Ahh Pointā€, then explored the South Rim overlooks for most of the afternoon. We finally explored the western portion of the South Rim all the way to Hermitā€™s Rest, until we circled back to Hopi Point for sunset. Meals, snacks, and beverages were provided throughout, and we were able to see SO MUCH in such a short period of time. While the day itself was amazing, what really sets Elite Custom Adventures apart is the photography. In less than a week we received over 50 digital photos from our experience, many using unique photography techniques, and these simply couldnā€™t be duplicated on an iPhone. We are so happy that weā€™ll have these memories forever, not just in our mind, but on our computer backgrounds and hanging on the wall.
