There are a number of classes, we upgraded our trip so we could enjoy seats facing each other (there's four of us). The train cars are old Pullman style railway cars and the trip generally takes about three hours. Prior to the trip there is an old west show that includes some fun and involves the audience to a limited degree. You board your rail car and the seats are comfortable and the view is awesome. In our car, Nancy was our attendant and she provided excellent interaction as well as pointing out sites of interest along the way. They also had local singers come to each of the cars and provide some entertainment. There was snacks and drinks provided, you could also visit the snack car if needed. When arriving at the canyon, we walked a short distance to the bus that was going to take us around to the sites to see. Oscar, was our bus driver and was courteous and funny. Additionally he was a wealth of information about the Grand Canyon and the surrounding area. He drove us to two areas in which we could get off the bus and see the Canyon. Both locations were great and he provided points to look at while we were looking. After visiting the two locations we were driven to the hotel where we had lunch. It was a chicken taco type meal and enjoyable, but not the best I've ever had. After the lunch we had the option to walk back to the train or take the bus. We elected to take the bus as it was getting warm and we have some mobility issues; however, it would be an easy walk for most people. As I understand it there is a gift shop there at the hotel, but we didn't see it. We were taken back to the train station and waited for our return trip. ON the way back there was additional snacks and drinks, entertainment from singers and the individuals who were at the cowboy show. It was overall an enjoyable trip as I was able to relax and see the scenery and visit without trying to drive and find places to park along the way.

The train journey was really lovely, first class seats were fantastic and our host in coconino was absolutely fantastic. The only let down was the lady taking photos as she was quite rude and not what was expected when everyone else was so lovely!! The route is fantastic and very scenic, the canyon its self didn’t disappoint. The complimentary snacks on the way home weren’t as great as the ones going out but that is being a little picky! All in all, the trip was fantastic and we would highly recommend it!!!

The train ride was awesome!!! We had a large group of all ages and everyone liked it. Didn’t think the bus tour once you got there was necessary if you are able to walk a lot:).
