This is a really tough review to write. There are things that worked well. The customer service for Grand Canyon Destinations was very good. The Skywalk was amazing. We had good stops.
What wasn't amazing...
The bus was very old. There was no storage. You had to take everything with you.
If you purchased food as part of the package, you stand in line while you receive your food out of the back of a Subaru Forester in a parking lot. This looked pretty sketchy. Don't buy the food. There are options for breakfast at the first stop (potty break) and at the Skywalk.
Our tour guide Kevin was extremely rude. Specificially:
He made comments like, "I don't have to put up with anything. I can leave you on the side of the road." and "I am only going to answer questions from paying customers." Of course, those who paid extra for the VIP tour should have his primary attention. There are a LOT better ways to convey that point (and honestly, weren't we ALL paying customers?).
Those of us who didn't pay for the VIP tour were left to figure it out on our own. It wasn't that complicated, but Kevin did nothing to assist. Not even point in the direction of where we should go.
At one stop, Kevin's video got stuck in a terminal loop on the bus's video player. It was a political rant. I know it was a mistake and I honestly don't care what his political affiliation is. I shouldn't have to listen to it on a loop for over 20 minutes. To be fair, he did apologize.
Kevin spent the majority of his time on the upper level of the bus. Those of us on the bottom level had the narration blasted at us. He did apologize saying that it was the only way that the upper deck could hear him. If you go, sit on the upper level.
His narration on the way home started out as a Las Vegas trivia game (fun). He then devolved into talking at length about himself, what he's done, who he has met, etc.
The sites (Skywalk, Hoover Dam) were spectacular. You should go see them. I just would be hesitant to use this tour provider again.
