If you are looking to spend a day just taking pictures in New York City, this is not it. If you are looking for an experience, learning from an expert about how to find the story in the photo that you see in your mind and how to use your camera to tell that story, then a PhotoSafari with Zim will take you to the next level. Comprehensively, directly and honestly, she will willingly help and guide you through what you want and are willing to learn in this experience. Whether it be about telling the story, learning about your camera or photographing architecture, people or everyday objects on the streets of the city - this experience is about 'making some decisions' and 'finding your best friend' which is some of the best advice I've ever gotten after dozens of workshops and classes.

So I'm repeat visitor to New York City Photo Safari. Why? because they are the best in the business! You will not find a better photography workshop. You will learn loads and I guarantee that you will come away with some excellent photographs. Zim is really good company and will help you out with composition and technique. She is a wealth of knowledge about photography and encourages you to ask questions. She will patiently go over a subject and revisit a concept until you understand. She is very approachable and full of engery. I've done lots of photography tours around the world and I can honestly say this is the best company. Oh and the other advantage of going to Grand Central with this company is you get to use your tripod which is not normally allowed, this means you will end up with really cool movement shots from being able to use slow shutter speeds. They are very responsive to emails and telephone calls and will do their best to accommodate last minute requests for a tour.I know that I will do another safari when I back in NYC in a few months time

Had family in town for the holiday weekend and my nieces wanted to do a photo safari, so we did the one in Central Park. They loved it! I thought 2.5 hours might be a bit long for them, but the instructor, Rob, did a nice job keeping them focused, showing them how to handle their cameras, set up their shots, how to work their camera, etc. He was really easy going. I was kind of along for the ride with my simple point and shoot but Rob did not neglect me and I learned a few things too. I live here and have been to Central Park many times, but now I will see the Park in a whole new light!
