Overview

Our signature flightseeing and glacier landing tour, includes 30 mins of helicopter flight seeing and 30 mins landed at 3 unique Glacier inclusive areas including on the glacier itself. This tour includes a high alpine landing where you will have 30 mins to see the grand size of the 5 mile wide and 29 mile long Knik Glacier with a birds eye view. Your second landing takes you to a massive 100 foot ice wall where form a safe distance you may even be able to see the massive ice calve . After 30 minutes safely exploring you are then relocated to the glacier landing right in the middle of Knik Glacier, where you can get out of the helicopter and spend about 30 minutes exploring ice thousands of years old with your pilot/guide. See the azure blue melt pools (summer), crevasses and the bizarre ice formations created by water, wind and the sun. During your flight seeing, keep your eyes open for the area wildlife to include Moose, Mountain Goats, Dall Sheep, Bears and even wolf on occasion!

Due to comfort and weight / balance of the aircraft, passengers weighing over 250 pounds including clothing and luggage will be required to pay a surcharge. This is payable directly to the tour operator.
CHECK IN is 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time. If you arrive late, your tour may be shortened or rescheduled and additional cost may be applicable.

WINTER TOURS - October - April -we are unable to land on top of the glacier due to snow cover. We will land next to the glaciers near the massive ice formations
Guests 300lbs or over require our Astar Helicopter to fly. This is not available for every time/day.Please call direct to assure we have that helicopter available to accommodate prior to booking.

Shout to our pilot Christian, who has as much fun as you do. He asked what we wanted, and we said, "start someplace high" (See picture). The entire time we felt like to AHT the term VIP really means something. We landed 3 times and got to choose where on the glacier to stop as the final hurrah. The team here from the ground crew, to our driver and the pilots onward were spectacular and really did care that you have an "exceptional Experience". We had a small hiccup with photos, and it was resolved in under 24 hours. Service and satisfaction in every way. Although we did the Grand Tour, we had several conversations with people who did others and they raved as well. Do not hesitate, this is the group to use. About an hour outside of Anchorage, worth the ride and then some. THANK YOU AHT.

Right off the bat, let me say that the Grand Knik tour is worth all of your money! If you’re wanting to reach the remote places and see vistas unattainable by any other method, you are in the right place! Shane was our exceptionally awesome pilot. We had done some glacier exploration earlier that day, so we asked him to surprise us with our landing spots and see a variety of landscapes. He was easy to talk to and very knowledgeable about the area, even pointing out animals that he spotted from the air. One of our landing spots was one of the iconic blue pools on the glacier, which are always changing so he has to frequently scout out places to land and where the new pools are. My favorite landing was high on the side of a rocky slope, right next to one of the cascading glaciers. We felt like eagles perched on the side of the mountain, with a majestic view all to ourselves, able to hear the ice cracking and releasing pressure. Our only company was a small group of mountain goats walking the tight line on the edge of the mountain. It is a million dollar view. Don’t hesitate, book with this team of pilots and know that they will take you on a mesmerizing adventure!

Hard to pick favorites across the 3 landings .. each marvelous in their own right. My only tip to future travelers is to opt for the grand knik experience since , if like me, this is your first heli flight, just the take off, the landings and the turns these friggin awesome pilots execute is a treat. The sights are so darned good that you will forget all petty worries of your life and just be glad you are on planet earth :)
