Not what i expected from the meca of country. Older artis dressed and preformed to be respectful of what the GOO is. Some made feel like we were watching them practicing in their GARAGE. Loved the staff, building and history. Wiil not go back

I want to tell you that it was amazing, wonderful, outstanding, but truth be told, it's filled with the same old singers that have been there for the last 40-50 years. I've been twice now, and I did go back the second time because I had a great time at the Saturday night show the first time. This time I went to the Friday night show and whispering Bill Anderson and Jeannie Seely maybe should retire their singing voices. I really wanted to enjoy it but at the end of the day the old regulars sang more than the headliner. I felt like the audience was dutiful in their enthusiasm of the old timers, but they don't really belt out their songs anymore. Even the backup band looks like they have been there for 50 years. I was underwhelmed. One bright spot is the comedian. Ours was Gary Mule Deer - aged but hysterical. And I still think everyone that goes to Nashville should go once, just to experience the event - but try to get a Saturday ticket!

Felt this was a must do in Nashville (I still think it is) but the country classics show felt very formulaic, like all the quips and jokes has been said 1,000 times before and the music and jokes had a couple of disturbing undertones (a song about a telephone stalker, jokes about not wanting more children incase one came out Mexican..?). I love modern country music, this was a very different world. Oh and 4 waters and a beer was $32 from a self service shop that wanted a tip on top? Overall, you kind-of have to ‘do the opry’ if you love the genre, but the downtown honky tonks are better.
