Totally disappointed with this tour. For the money it is not worth it. Started out with company overbooking the tour, couple gave up their seats so a family of 6 could go. Refused to get them back to their hotel. No mike for the tour driver, so he only spoke to the 4 people who were up front near him, the rest of us got nothing. he didn't really offer anything either. Drove like crazy through the park, stopped at the photo areas, said you have 20 minutes. So, the whole day was spent stopping quickly at photo areas and then back into the bus. Not informative about the tour or the area. Would NOT recommend using this company.
In spite of smoke and haze from forest fires in neighboring states, we had a lot of fun on this tour. Our guide, Mike, did a yeoman's job of making the tour a success. Early in the day, he decided that, if the haze was going to obstruct the view of the mountains, then it was going to be a search for wild life. And, did we ever search. He took lots of back roads looking for bison and anything else that might be out and about. And, along the way we saw beautiful scenery and slowly clearing views of the Tetons. Just when our hopes of seeing bison we dimming, Mike took another back road. WOW! We almost ran into the bison. A heard of at least 50, my husband was counting, were literally hoofing if across the road. Some were almost close enough to talk to, but they weren't very talkative. A couple stopped to look at us! I guess we were wild life to them. We stopped at a little river just, for a picture op, and spent 15 minutes with a magnificent bald eagle. And on the way home we found a moose nibbling along a stream. Then we turned back to the lake. The smoke had cleared and we took in the grandeur of the cathedral group rising in high jagged peaks across the sky and mirrored in the lake. One of the best 8 hours we ever spent.
Loved this tour! That Grand Tetons are a beautiful sight to behold. The weather was absolutely breathtaking and this day trip was a photographer's delight.
