We went on the dusk tour of Grand Teton Park with Bobby today. It was amazing! You need to go on this tour! Bobby asked the group what we were interested in seeing when we started out, then worked to find all the animals. I’m sure there is an element of luck (weather, timing, etc.), but we saw everything. An osprey, a black bear, a huge moose drinking from a stream, a doe elk with fawns, an elk buck, a yellow bellied marmont, mountain bluebirds, a bigger black bear, pronghorns (a mother with 3 fawns and a buck), mule deer, and a bison stampede! Seriously, we saw bison, including adorable calves, run through a field and cross the road right in front of us! They have a scope provided to get a better view of the animals (we actually saw a lot of them pretty close to the road), but he used the scope to show us a closer view. He offered to take photos with our phones using the scope to get a better photo of animals that were further away and I have amazing photos as a result. Between those photos and the ones we took on our own when animals were closer, we have some photos that look like Wyoming postcards. The tour went above and beyond expectations. We booked the Yellowstone all day tour with Brushbuck for tomorrow and I’m so excited to go after this amazing experience today. If you are on the fence at all, you should definitely go on this tour.

Gannon was a wonderful guide. He’s got a great eye. We would have never seen an Osprey if it wasn’t for him. He’s very passionate about what he does and FULL of great information. We took the morning tour. It was a bit chilly then got really warm. So it’s best to layer. We saw buffalo and pronghorn. Gannon was wonderful and took pictures with our cell phones from his fancy camera. So we got fabulous up close photos. Thank you Gannon for a super trip.

We took the dusk 4 hour tour early Aug. Guide picked us up plus several other people from our hotel, and dropped us off after, which was very convenient. Guide was knowledgeable and knew how to spot wildlife from a great distance. He was efficient with setting up his scope and allowing everyone to view via attached cellphone. Tour took us to Mormon Row, stopped at various lookout points, did the dirt road Moose Wilson Rd where there was a moose mom and calf. Chips, water and soda were served, binoculars available for all. Wildlife spotted were generally from a great distance, barely specks on the horizon. If you want to see wildlife in your face, go to Lamar Valley and the bison will be staring at you from just outside your car window. Here's the thing: others on the tour were elderly or traveling alone, in other words they benefited from being driven around. We actually covered the same attractions and roads of this tour during our 2 day stay in the area, so for the cost for family of 4 it just wasn't worth it. The guide and phone support were great.
