So both a bear and a moose on thee tour as well as a couple of mature elk. But seeing Wildlife is always hit and miss. Even if we hadn't seen anything,. We still would have enjoyed the tour because of guide Trevor and all his knowledge and experience of the area.

This tour will give you the best chance to see wildlife and parts of the Teton range and Yellowstone you could not otherwise find on your own. The guides are very knowledgeable and experienced. Our time was limited and these guys made the most of it. We loved it.

My family of 4 took a 4 hr dawn tour with our guide Kevin. Overall, we didn’t find that we saw much more wildlife on the tour than we would have if we drove around ourselves and stopped where there were other vehicles gathered. (In fact, we saw significantly more wildlife on our own, some very close by, after the tour, on our own in the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone.) The additional value of the tour to us in terms of seeing wildlife was in the guide pointing out an osprey, and the spotting scope that let us see two herons and some elk in the distance more closely - which was not great value to us for the $500 we paid for the tour in total. We understand that wildlife is unpredictable and perhaps that day was just a bad day for wildlife spotting. We did find that we spent a fairly long time in spots that didn’t seem to be great for spotting wildlife though (like a toilet stop by the side of the road as requested by a passenger, and at a launching site for a boat at a lake) - at least 15-20 minutes each while Kevin shared his stories- not too sure if that was a factor. Some of Kevin’s stories were interesting but we might just have had different expectations from what he was offering (we signed up for the tour primarily to see wildlife while he was sharing a lot on park landmarks, history and flora). On the whole, if you are able to navigate around the park yourself and find out from Park Rangers about good spots to see wildlife, this tour might not be the best value.
