Originally established as a clinic to provide affordable medical care to the poor, the Northern Dispensary served the community for over a century. Remarkably, one of its most famous patients was Edgar Allan Poe, who reportedly sought treatment for a cold here. The building’s unique layout, shaped by the street grid, adds to its charm and distinctiveness. Gay Street
