Griffith Observatory Guided Tour and Planetarium Ticket Option

Overview
Given how popular and large Griffith Observatory is, it can be difficult to get to and even more so to navigate the building once you’re there.

This historic landmark features 67,000 square feet of exhibition space, a public observatory and a planetarium. So how can you possibly experience it all without missing anything?

We have the pros here to help! This small-group tour, designed by some of the observatory’s former employees, will enhance your experience by taking you on a curated journey through space and time. We cover everything from science and history to architecture and movie trivia.

And don’t forget the opportunity to add a show in the world-famous planetarium theater with our special ticket option. It’s a 40-minute immersive show with live narration that is truly out of this world! However, this interstellar option is only for ages 5 and older.

Ready to discover the wonders of Griffith Observatory? We can’t wait to show you the real stars of LA!

Entertaining, informative, witty, and funny. I highly recommend taking Estevan's tour. As a SoCal native, I should have gone to the Observatory forever ago, but I am not incredibly fond of space. He will make you appreciate space much more with talks on the history of astronomy, the history of southern California, fun pokes at the industry around the area, and even a brief talk on nihilism. Take the tour!

Our guide was well informed and very excited about his topic. It was an exceptional tour. Stop asking me to say more just so I can give our fantastic guide his compliments!

While the Griffith Observatory is a free-admission venue, visitors gain significant information with an engaged and entertaining tour guide. Our family was delighted by the rich descriptions and warm presentation of Estevan. He got our group comfortable from the start of our tour, and provided meaningful descriptions as we discovered the history and importance of this LA treasure.
