Overview

Our island is considered to be the root chakra of the Earth. The Big Island of Hawaii, formed by 5 volcanoes, is alive with the red and black energy of the lava it creates. The Root Chakra relates to the earth element, and is the foundation and support system for life. When in balance you feel grounded and secure. This is also where our kundalini energy is located. Balancing and cultivation of this energy center is necessary for those wanting to activate and raise the kundalini energy in the body.
During this tour Mike will tell his personal story of how he used sacred Hawaiian plants and prayers to protect his home during the 2018 flow.
Then you will go on a short, guided hike learning more about the Hawaiian deities and reaching Fissure 8, a now famous fissure from the flow. There you will see steam vents, Peles hair and some of the freshest lava on the island. Yana will lead a traditional Hawaiian offering and grounding ceremony at the fissure.

What To Expect

Pahoa

Walk an area frequented by few. Visit the most destructive fissure from the 2018 lava flow, feel the hot ground and receive natures steam bath as it washes away all stress.

Pahoa

Visit a local home where the owner did not evacuate during the 2018 flow. The view is awe inspiring as you will see 5 streets behind the house that were taken out as well as every house to the right and left of this one making his the last one standing.

This was the second tour we did with Bathing Suits and Rain Boots while we were visiting. The snorkel tour with Dawn was truly magical making you feel like a real-life mermaid and this up close and personal view of a volcanic fissure with Mike and Yana is awe inspiring! The family gives their amazing story of the flow from 2018, you get to see firsthand the destruction that it caused and even walk ground that is STILL HOT from the fissure! Nature truly is amazing. You cannot get to Fissure 8 without a guide. Our friends that visited a month before us tried to go on their own but there is no way. Book the tour, not only does it support local families that were impacted by the flow, but it gives you information you never would have received and an unforgettable experience! The drone video we received after was wonderful as well. The couples son, Max does the videos and he captures the event beautifully. Something we can share with our friends and family!

It is a well organized, super informative, and I enjoyed the personal story told by a local who witnessed the lava flowing next to his house. The hike is short and beautiful. To feel the hot earth is beyond amazing.
