Group Surf Lesson in Kona Hawaii

Overview

You never forget your first wave, as surfing enthusiasts in Hawaii are prone to say, so make sure your first wave is a good one with a small-group surf lesson on the Big Island. This 2-hour Kona surf lesson starts with the basics, like surfing safety, etiquette and how to paddle and pop up on the board. Then take to the water to practice your newfound skills on the waves of Kahalu'u Bay! A knowledgeable surfing instructor will be in the water with you, telling you when to paddle and when to pop up. It’s a Hawaiian experience everyone should try at least once!

Awesome first time surfing experience! Went with a group of 6 first time surfers and instructors were patient and accomodating. I really appreciated the positive energy from Rory, Kehlani, and Jacob, as well as the safety guidance. One of our party members had an incident with a sea urchin, which the instructors immediately recognized from hundreds of feet away and expertly handled. Overall can't imagine surfing for a first time without lessons like this.

So much fun! Great experience with the family. Super friendly staff. Our instructor Kalani was easy going, patient and helpful. Kalani really made the most of our 2.5 hour lesson. We left feeling that booking here was the right choice. Thanks Kalani!

Was an awesome experience!! Steve our instructor was very good and helped us a lot to have a spectacular time!! Be prepared for some work (paddling) but it is so worth it when you catch the wave and ride it out!!
