We booked an 8 am group lesson for 2 adults and a 10 year old.
First, the good:
-instructors were super sweet and helpful (I believe their names were mariano and nino)
-we all 3 were āsurfingā in the first few minutes of being in the water
-overall we had a good time when we were actually surfing which is why Iām leaving a 3 rating
Now the bad:
-we booked an 8-10 am lesson and were only on the water for about an hour maybe an hour and a half
-you wait for your group to get there, carry your board across the street to the beach, get a few tips and instructions on surfing, practice getting up on the board a few times and then head out to the water to try (30-45 min here)
-the boards are huge and heavy, and they make everyone carry their own - I get the adults carrying them out but have some help for the kids - youāre carrying them for quite a while and itās a workout
-we had 2 instructors to about 12-15 people, not a good ratio
-only got to surf a few waves due to the instructor to customer ratio, now I understand this was a group and not private activity but distribute your employees better or extend the lesson
-due to the off customer to instructor ratio, they were throwing people out without really looking around and there are LOTS of people on the water so you end up crashing into someone half the time
We had fun when we were actually surfing but felt like this should be a bit longer of an activity as youāre not actually surfing for half of your lesson.
