Overview

From December through March/April, the magnificent Humpback whales make their yearly migration from Alaska to Hawaii. Join us for a 2.5-hour tour on a comfortable, roomy boat and experience a close encounters with some of the biggest creatures in the ocean. Whale sightings are guaranteed, or you will be given a voucher for another tour.

It's extremely rare, but if we do not see any whales on our tour, you are welcome to come back again during the same vacation, based on availability, free of charge. We recommend you book early in your trip so if you need to take advantage of the guarantee, you'll have more flexibility.

After the experience we had with Manta Ray Night Snorkel, I immediately signed my kiddos & myself up for a Whale Watching tour with Ocean Encounters. My little ones L O V E D it. My girl (5) was literally hopping & dancing with delight & my boy (9) was more than happy to swap animal facts with Captain Rory & Taylor. We had yet another magical experience— at least 2 juvenile whales checked out our boat — a sure sign that Ocean Encounters & their crew brings the good aloha spirit. (Rory even snatched up my GoPro —after asking, of course— & got some underwater video!) A big THANK YOU to Rory and Taylor for their patience with and attention to the littler whale watchers— I know mine will remember it forever!

The most memorable part of this trip was getting soaked. This was a guarantee whale watching tour, Before we left port our tour guide told us that they saw whales to the north earlier that morning. After leaving port we went south. we saw nothing. By the time we turned north it was time to return to port. The guarantee is you get a trip, not that you see a whale. What a bust. Tour guide said sorry about that, sign up again maybe we'll have better luck.

Nice big ship, friendly captain and staff. I totally recomend it. It was nice trip. We were in March, but still saw whale.
