We went out a few days after a wind/rainstorm in Hawai'i and the water was still quite choppy. Captain Taylor and Brian and one other staff of BiteMe sportfishing/Ocean Encounters took care of us on the boat, with whale facts and especially when some of the guests became seasick. Despite searching high and low and being limited by where we could travel due to the high winds, there was only one brief whale sighting. We appreciated the offer of going on a future whale watch but did not have time to take advantage of it...plus we went on a later snorkelling trip with them and saw some whales then. Be prepared to get wet due to ocean spray.

Our whale watching tour with Bite Me Sportfishing was incredible! We saw at least 50 whales -probably more than that, but we could count fast enough! Some of the whales swam right beside the boat, and most came within easy viewing range. The weather was bad and it was mid-week so they did not have enough guest for our tour. We paid for two extra passengers tickets, so we essentially had a private whale watching tour for my dad, my wife and me. We had the boat to ourselves and the captain was having a great time as well, so we stayed a little longer enjoying the show the humpback whales were giving us. I have been on similar tours before because I love wild life photography, and this was by far the best I have ever experienced! The crew were great and they made sure we had a fantastic time. I can't say enough about how good this tour was. Thanks Bite Me Sportfishing for this experience! An aside -this tour was for family, but not teens or young children -we had my 81 year old father with us. Trip Advisor needs to add more options for "what sort of visit was this?"
