Carrie, our guide and one of the owners, was very helpful, attentive, and cheerful. You can tell she loves doing this. This was our first kayaking experience. The water was tranquil and shaded by trees...good for summer because there was less sun. We took the 8 AM tour. 10 AM may have been sunnier but still lots of shade. We had a small group and we all kayaked at a different speeds. Carrie went back and forth between us. She was very knowledgeable of the area...animals, flowers, etc. One in our group saw an alligator. The kayaks are new and she helped us decide which would be best for us. Two hours was a bit of a challenge being new to this but we made it! We definitely recommend this trip.

You all did an excellent job, and definitely the 8am tour is nice in the hot summer! Thank you for such a great review, I really do love what I do and that's because I get to spend time with folks like you and your family. Come see me again next summer!

My wife and I and our 8 and 11 year olds really enjoyed the eco adventure. We also had another family who are friends that joined us for this excursion. They had a 8, 10, and a 12 year old. Kerri was our guide and was amazing with all the kids. She took time to help some of the newbies understand some kayaking basics and made everyone feel safe and comfortable even when we spotted an alligator along our journey. You will burn (adults :-) a few calories on the upstream part and relax on the 2nd half coming back downstream. Having 2/3 seat kayaks worked perfectly with our family setup. We will definitely do another one of the excursions with the same company when we come back to Amelia Island. I highly recommend the eco tour for families with members new to kayaking and this excursion has lots of twists and turns in the river where you can watch wildlife, kayak under drooping trees and get a little shade as well.
