Our tour guide Alan made our afternoon walking tour fun and educational. A worthwhile investment for the 1st time visitor to Boston.

My group of 5 really enjoyed our walking tour with Alan on 9/28. He is an excellent guide - knowledgeable, funny and a native Bostonian (those are harder to find than we expected!). We lucked out with a gorgeous day. I had organized a birthday weekend in Boston for my Mom. We hailed from Pittsburgh, DC, KY, VT and CT. I wanted to have active events in between the eating and drinking, and this was the perfect thing to do. I come to Boston frequently for work and to visit my son, so I loved learning more about things that I haven't had a chance to visit. Most others had only been to Boston once or twice before so this was a super introduction and orientation. Our total group was at least 15 people, and my Mom and her best friend are older and were a little slower than the group, so I felt like we were always a little behind as the pace is brisk. The city was buzzing, which was fun, but also meant it was very loud in some of the places where we stopped and Alan was speaking. He did a great job overcoming that challenge. I loved all of the little details, that make history come to life. I hope to be in Boston on July 4 sometime to hear the live reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Old State House. Very glad we did this tour, and I look forward to doing others in the future with Boston CityWalks. I will request Alan next time for sure!

Excellent walking tour. Gives one an excellent review of history that we learned in 5th grade, 8th grade, etc. Not to be missed if you are interested in learning about this great country. I have done this tour more than once (myself, friends, my children, and family) and each time it is just as fascinating.
