We did the Freedom Trail walk on a VERY windy, cold day. It was interesting. You do not do the whole Freedom Trial but get a good taste of it. Would recommend the tour.

The Freedom Trail is an excellent way to see inner Boston- not only the historical aspect which is awesome but also the city itself. The people at the information center near Boston Commons at the start of the walk are extremely helpful as is the material, maps, books and brochures available; I would ensure anyone takes advantage of this. The trail is easy to follow and allows for side trips as you want. We broke it up into two half days as we stopped so much. Wander and learn, or make it a fast trip - whatever your time allows. Make sure you get to the Old North Church early- check the hours in advance so you get inside. We had at most 15 minutes. Great restaurants in the ONC area. Take the whole trip from start to finish at Bunker Hill and also check hours at Old Ironsides- that is well worth the visit as well.

The tour was interesting. But for the most part we could not hear the tour guide. His voice did not carry and with the traffic noise and some of the places he stopped us, it was not easy to hear him. Both my husband and I felt the same way. He also started a little late and we left some points were a little rushed and time was not given to even take a quick picture. It was a cooler day and the tour guide seemed to be a bit cold, and so in my opinion rushed at times.
