Excellent experience ! Incredible sunset and the bike ride wasn’t too challenging. The early morning wakeup was worth it getting picked up by the company from the hotel. Staff was knowledgeable and helped out every step of the way. Eddy-Buddy and Jackie-Buddy were great guides

Not going to lie, but I was super nervous about this part of my trip. I've never ridden on the street so I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to do it. But right from the start the staff kept reassuring us that if at one point we felt that we couldn't continue, all we had to do was give them a call and they would come get us. We left the store at around 4am and made it to the top for the sunrise at 5:20. For you Canadians out there, it was not cold! I would compare it to a nice crisp september evening. I wore cropped tights and a sweater with one of the rain jackets they provided and I was perfectly fine (helps not to take up too much because halfway down you feel the heat again). After the first few miles I got a hang of the bike and I was able to relax a little more down the volcano. Just make sure to follow the rules, take your time, pull over to the side if you need a breather, and take in the views. The sunrise was beautiful and the bike down was a once in a lifetime experience.

This was so much fun!! I would recommend doing this in the beginning of your trip so you will still be jetlagged (you meet at 3 am). However going to the top of the volcano was really cool, though REALLY cold (though they provide warm weather stuff, I'd bring some, along with a blanket to cover it). Seeing the sunrise up there was beautiful, while you listen to native Hawaiians sing to welcome the day. The bike ride down was a lot of fun. My 12 year old daughter rode down like a champ. It's not tiring at all since it's all downhill and you can stop as often as you'd like. Though the roads can be narrow at times and there is traffic, everyone seems to be used to avoiding bikers and there were no issues. We stopped at a bakery on the way down for coffee and a donut on a stick, which was fun. I will never forget this bike ride - the smells, the flowers, the scenery... i highly recommend it. And our guides, derek and something that started with an M (I want them to get credit!) were so fun and welcoming. They really went out of their way to make our time special. Thank you!!
