This is my third time doing the sunrise Haleakala bike tour, second time doing self-guided, and it was just as magical as my first time 6 years ago. No matter how many times I’ve been to Maui, or how many others tours/activities I’ve tried, this is still hands-down my favorite thing to do on Maui. This sunrise and bike tour never gets old for me and I still get something new out of it every time. I like Bike Maui the best because of the quality of the bikes and gear provided for the ride (the bikes are specifically made for the Haleakala ride) the professionalism and knowledge of the staff, and the overall experience that they provide. As long as you follow all of the safety instructions and exercise common sense, you’ll have a fun and safe ride. Additionally, I think think this company goes the extra mile to ensure you have a great experience from beginning to end. Getting up at 1:30am is rough, but they entertain you the entire ride up. They also take some really great pictures after sunrise, give you tips on how to get great pictures while still being respectful of the environment and others around you. I won’t hesitate to book with them again on my next trip to Maui.

I was really impressed with the work the team did for the vehicle tour of the national park and the sunrise at the summit. We were always on time and on schedule. It was really inspiring to see the native Hawaiian staff chanting at the summit at the moment of sunrise. I am honored they shared their culture and explained the significance of Haleakela for us howlies ;). The bike ride down went off without a hitch and spots to stop and eat were noted by staff and shown on the map. Above all, safety is huge with this team. Several safety briefings were given on the trip. It seems like a lot of money for a bike ride, but given all that went into setting this up I think there is great value in this excursion. These guys are pros at what they do. You will be well taken care of.

Our Tour driver Eddie is the best storyteller ever! He also showed us all the landmarks we would encounter on our bikes as we made our way up the mountain. He drilled the directions in our head in a fun and mesmerizing way and also focused on safe biking tips. It was a windy day so his tips came in handy. He was very detailed regarding u-turns, road conditions, and weather. We’d do the Zipline next with them! All their employees are very knowledgeable!
