Two awesome experiences in one trip. The sunrise from the crater is worth the early wake up and easier to do if you have just arrived to Maui. The bike ride down Haleakala might be even better. An easy hour and a half nearly all downhill biking without stops but there are plenty of places you'll want stop for and check out.

My husband and I just took the sunrise and bike ride trip yesterday and really enjoyed it. I am not a morning person but this was definitely worth getting up early to experience. It was one of the most beautiful bike rides we have ever been on. We did the self guided ride which we really recommend because we were able to go at your own pace and stop whenever we wanted to.

Had the chance to do the sunrise self-guided tour this morning and couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We arrived at 3am to find that they offered rain gear (jacket & pants), vests, backpacks, and gloves in case it was cold. This was very helpful as it ended up being freezing up at the summit. After checking in and getting gear (helmets), they gave a short demo on how to use the bikes and then we were on our way. The ride up there we had Eddy and Jackie, it was about an hour and a half but both kept it very interesting and funny. All the staff was great, very friendly, and had an awesome sense of humor! Once we arrived at the summit the sunrise was beautiful. We also stopped at another lookout point which was a plus. Then we got to get on the bikes! It was very easy to navigate and had beautiful scenery. Stopped at Kula Lodge for breakfast, delicious. We also stopped to pet some horses along the way. I couldn’t recommend this experience more! It’s well worth the early wake up time and the money. Everyone is super friendly, informative, and there to help you have the best experience possible. Thank you again Eddy and Jackie! One thing to note, we were done by 10am and made several stops along the way/didn’t rush.
