Our driver was good and we learned a lot on the bus ride. For the bike ride, he did share that the last few miles could be treacherous in traffic. The comment was made a few times, that as you pass the grave yard on the way back, that it is a sign to beware. My 24 year old son was seriously injured - just narrowly escaping being hit by a pick up truck- as he went around an extremely tight curve with no bike lane or visability of oncoming traffic. He will now be out of work and in physical therapy for 4-8 weeks. However, the outcome truly could have been much worse. There is no reason to ride all the back to the shop. The company should pick up riders and bikes in the nearby town- five miles away- for the sake of everyone's safety. I am sharing this review because I hope changes will be made that could save others from this scary experience. Additionally, no one from the company bothered to follow-up with any concern.

Absolutely amazing experience! The bikes and bus were in great shape. The sunrise was magnificent and the ride down the mountain was exciting. Shiloh, our tour guide, made it extra special. He was funny and very informative and made the early morning drive up the mountain fun. We felt he went way out of his way to show us sights and add a very personal touch to the ride. He also did a great job stressing the need to be safe while still having fun. The self guided trip is certainly the way to go so you can go down the mountain at your own pace.

This was one of our trip highlights. Set your expectations for the sunrise viewing area to be very crowded. The sunrise was spectacular. We did the self guided descent. It was easy to do with very little bike experience. You basically cruise down and the brakes on these bikes are fantastic. We stopped for coffee and pastries before returning the bikes. I almost cancelled due to nerves about biking down, I’m so glad I didn’t. It was exhilarating while still feeling safe.
