Half-Day Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve Float Tour

Overview
The world-famous Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve boasts the largest gathering of bald eagles anywhere in the world! Your adventure begins with a spectacular drive along the National Scenic Byway through the awe-inspiring Chilkat Valley to the heart of the preserve. After a riverside picnic you will board 18-foot inflatable rafts and enjoy a peaceful float (no whitewater) down this ever-changing river.

Watch for eagles, bears, moose, and wolves who frequent the preserve to feed on the plentiful spawning salmon. With 7,000-foot-tall peaks towering above as you drift through picturesque landscapes, floating down the river is the best way to take in the grandeur of Alaska.

After your river trip, enjoy homemade cookies and hot and cold drinks by riverbank before boarding your bus back to Haines.

This is an unforgettable adventure into the wilderness of Alaska!

Haines is the epitome of small town Alaska. Nestled at the foot of snow capped mountains and framed by the sea it's an ideal spot on your Alaska journey to decompress and enjoy hospitality, wilderness and quirky charm. It's advantage of being located on mainland Alaska with road access to Canada's Yukon territory as well as other points on the Alaskan mainland.

The knowledge of our guides was tremendous. We were well cared for and had the opportunity to see countless eagles. The lunch set was great.

I am an avid cruiser. This was my first experience in Alaska. We wanted to make sure we made the most of our time and booked way in advance. We were bumped off of the tour because another party booked from the ship. Since when is non refundable only good one way? So dissappointed. There is nothing to do in Haines without a pre booked tour. They are too small and not experienced with tourism in Haines.
