Overview

The Blue Heron Fleet was established in 1955 by Capt. Harry Nagel. The fleet has been family owned and operated with the third generation currently at the helm. Blue Heron offers excellent year round fishing at a great price.

The vessels are the largest and most comfortable in the area. Vessels are custom built aluminum drift fishers that meet and exceed the United States Coast Guard regulations. The cabins offer cushioned seating, settees for catering, and clean men’s and ladies restrooms.

Both our locations are minutes from prime fishing grounds 20-40 minutes away depending on which hot spot is producing fish catches.

The fare includes rod, reel, bait, tackle, and fishing license. The crews have years of experience ensuring your families safety and enjoyment. Two half day excursion departing daily. No reservations necessary. Blue Heron specializes in private charters for family, business, and corporate events with the options of fishing or cruising.

The crew was great! They were a lot of fun & knowledgable. Everyone in our group caught at least one fish that we were able to take home even though we were not experienced fishers! When I caught a large king mackerel the team used a gaff to get the fish onboard and filleted it when we docked. Highly recommend! Side tip- if you take the fish to a local restaurant they will cook it for you!

The staff was superb! Very informative and attentive during the entire trip. The fishing was good. The weather was a bit rough, but we still managed. My only complaint would be that I caught a very large Bonita fish, and it was thrown back, because according to the staff member, it wasn’t a good eating fish. However, he never gave me the option to keep it… I have had Bonita before, and it is not a bad eat. Other than that, we had a great time!
