My husband and I signed up for the early departureā€¦700am. Weā€™re generally awake early anyway so why not? Zack was our guide. Great guy, very personable and an excellent guide. Let me start by saying I am not an experienced kayaker so was a bit uneasy about the distance we had to go. It took me a bit to get the hang of it, but Zack was a great instructor. Thought my husband was going to kill me thoughā€¦ heā€™s not as patient. Haha! Two miles down the river and then a hike through the forest trails, crossing a few streams to the waterfall. Majestic!!! Totally worth it! Not a bad hike at all.. a few short steeper areas. Just wear proper footwear as instructed. Turkey sandwiches and fresh pineapple were welcomed by all at the falls. Nice little break before returningā€”-back same way we entered. Zack made the hike entertaining with lots of ā€˜dad jokesā€™! Highly recommend. Just be prepared to kayak and hike!

Allen from Cincinnati, was an excellent tour guide. He pointed out plants, trees and shared Hawaiian stories with humor. I appreciate that he was all about safety too. Had a blast! Hands down one of the best things weā€™ve done in Kauai.
